Healing is a team effort.
You or your loved one may require the expertise of several clinical professionals on our staff. Your Treatment Team will include your will consist of various clinical staff and include your Doctor, Unit Manager, Clinical Social Worker, Dietician, Therapeutic Educator or Therapeutic Recreation staff. Other staff, such as Neuropsychology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Respiratory Therapy & Psychiatry will attend as appropriate.
The Treatment Team will also consist of the Resident-Neighbor, as well as the designated family representative or guardian. Other family members and friends may participate at the discretion of the Resident-Neighbor, representative or guardian. Everyone’s goal must be the same: To work together to ensure the best possible outcome.
Care Conferences: Our team approach ensures that those involved meet periodically to communicate findings and progress, to review treatment priorities, and to revise the treatment plan as needed. Because of the complex nature of brain injuries, we believe that all points of view must be taken into consideration before making any important decisions. This shared responsibility requires respect, trust and patient communication.
The first Comprehensive Care Conference will usually occur 14-21 days after admission. The family will be invited to attend. If a family member cannot physically attend the conference, they can participate via telephone.
