Northeast Center for Special Care Fine and Performing Arts Program Profiled on The Health Show



Lake katrine, NY, March 3, 2009 -- Recently, the syndicated public radio program, The Health Show, aired a segment entitled: Traumatic Brain Injury - Healing with CreativityThe Health Show co-host Bob Barrett spent time at Northeast Center for Special Care and observed the Fine and Performing Arts Program - one of the specialty rehabilitation programs pioneered by the Center.

Interviewed during the segment were Northeast Center clinicians: Gerry Brooks, MS, CCC, CBIST, Director of Brain Injury Programs , Peter Bass, Music Therapist and Susan Togut, MFA, Art Studio Director.  The segment also features original music composed and played by Resident-Neighbors at Northeast Center.

The Health Show is a program produced for public radio stations by WAMC in Albany, NY.  It is heard on 167 radio stations across the United States and Canada.

Northeast Center for Special Care is a state-of-art rehabilitation program for individuals with brain injury, neurobehavioral disorders, spinal cord injury, and ventilator dependency.
