Tim
S., a construction supervisor was injured in a quarry
accident in 1995 resulting in quadriplegia. He has
regained some use of his left hand and arm and some
speech. Tim also has quite a sense of humor.
At Northeast Center for Special Care, Tim has become an
eager painter. Painting for him involves ritual:
anticipation, preparation, painting activity and
marveling at the creation. Tim loves all aspects
of the ritual, but it is the activity of painting that
totally captivates him.
His paintings emerge from his inner necessity to create
wholeness with the process rewarding him with
satisfaction, improved mobility and evocative landscape
paintings.
