Jose
G. an aspiring twenty-year-old baseball player in Puerto
Rico, was paralyzed as a result of a gunshot wound in
the back. With his condition deteriorating, he was
brought to the United States and subsequently to
Northeast Center for Special Care for rehabilitation.
He speaks Spanish and learned a little English.
The Art Studio becomes a more common territory where
visual communication reigns supreme over oral
expression. Jose plugged into this ambiance and
organized a painting with twelve individual components.
He took to this task enthusiastically creating the
painting shown here. Jose was discharged from
Northeast Center for Special Care and now resides in New York City
