"Patty" 20" x 16" 2002
By Eric F.
Eric lost an eye from a
gunshot wound and like most Northeast Center artists, he had never
created art until he began drawing as part of his
rehabilitation. After rendering photos of animals and
landscapes in pencil and pen and ink for several months,
he reluctantly entered the arena of painting.
Not one to
back away from a challenge, Eric decided to paint
portraits of his three children; he then began portraits
of Northeast Center Resident-Neighbors , always sensitive to
personality traits. Eric’s ninth subject was Patty, a
neighbor legendary for her extroverted personality and
an outstanding artist in her own right.
