"Pastoral Memories" 24" x 30" 2004
By Pat G.
Pat
G. came to Northeast Center after acquiring a brain injury as a result
of a motor vehicle accident. Pat
had not made art before her journey of self discovery began in the Art
Studio. Over time, Pat
developed the ‘art bug,’ a lifestyle of those who live and breathe
art. Increasingly, she was
drawn into the mysteries and wonders of painting.
With
enormous self-motivation Pat painted from instinct, putting in hours of
self-critical practice. Pat has since returned to the community, and has
left behind a unique body of work. This landscape exemplifies her
work at Northeast Center for Special Care, a testament to the power of
creativity and one’s ability to find an authentic, visual voice.
