Margaret enjoyed drawing and painting offered in art classes as a child and teenager. She loved riding horses and depicting them in her art. However, her life radically changed at the age of twenty where as a result of a motor vehicle accident, she experienced a traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. Margaret was inspired by a good friend she made at Northeast Center
who had been transformed through the Fine Arts Program. Margaret works in
diverse media such as pencils, pastels, paint and simulated stained
glass. She is particularly intrigued by the transparent medium. Her
personal iconography includes horses, parts of faces and flowers, such
as roses that symbolize her mother. Her art expresses her feelings,
generally upbeat and full of charm.
