"Awakenings" 16" x 20" 2007

As a young child and teenager Ruth enjoyed art. She remembers
drawing, painting, making collages and sculpture. Ruth came to the Fine
Arts Program and since then she has been smitten with painting, working
in a free-form, abstract style reminiscent of the Abstract Expressionist
painters of the 1950’s.
Though she requires assistance, she paints with great power and vibrancy
as her concentration improves and sense of fulfillment grows. She
continues to paint, as well as experiment in other art forms, with her
joyous appreciation of the process.
